# Multiplication and Division Tables

Multiplication can be defined as addition of a number for a given number of times. For example, if 7 is multiplied by 4, it means 7 is added to itself for 4 times. Division is inverse of multiplication. Here in this page we are going to learn about Multiplication and division along with Multiplication and division tables.

Multiplication:

Multiplication symbol is "$\times$". There are four basic operations in elementary arithmetic multiplication, addition, subtraction and division.

Division:

In mathematics, particularly in elementary arithmetic, division $\div$ is the arithmetic operation that is the inverse of multiplication. Division describes two distinct but related settings. Partition involve taking a set of size a and forming b groups that are equal in size. The size of every group formed, c, is the quotient of a and b.

Identification 8's

To find 8 x 7 make use of the 8-method. The multiplying 8 into 7 times means, we get 56 is the answer.

The answer is mentioned above in the multiplication table(bold number). From the multiplicative table, we can easily find out product of any two numbers mentioned there.
