# Decimal to Percent

We convert percent into other numbers and other numbers into percentage as per convenience.
We can do so by converting

To convert a decimal fraction into percentage, we need to remember that percent means hundredths. The rule of thumb is to place the decimal two places right and put the percent sign after it.

Example: 0.08 = 8 % or 2.76 = 276 %In order to convert from percent to a decimal fraction, we have to remove the percent sign and move the decimal point left two places.

Example: 34 % = 0.34 or 314 % = 3.14Decimal Number: A decimal number is a number in which decimal is present. There are two parts in decimal number one part is called integral part and another part is called fractional part.

Percentage : It is a way of representing a number in terms of percentage. Like if we are expressing 55% then it will be equal to $\frac{55}{100}$ and it will be equal to 0.55.

## How to Convert Decimal to Percent

If we require to change a decimal value to percentage, all we need to do is simply multiply the decimal by 100. It is just similar to converting a fraction into percent.
It is very easy to convert decimal to percent.
If we want to convert decimal into percentage then multiply the given number by 100, so that we can get our answer. Here we will understand it step by step.

Step 1: Multiply by 100 the given number.

Step 2: After that we will get it in percentage.

For example -
In order to change 0.74 to a percentage, we just have to multiply it by 100, i.e.
0.74 x 100 = 74%

Change 0.6 into percent.
0.6 x 100
= 60%
